For Oscar de la Renta Pre-Spring 2025, Co-Creative Directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia celebrate the prolific nature of the organic.
Garcia took to the canvas with a series of watercolor orchid paintings—a motif turned collection muse. The orchid sprouts across fabrications—including hand-threaded Guipure and a gold metal organza—in printed form and comes to life in bugle beads, organza and thread work.
Snakeskin dances across silhouettes, both as a print and a mimetic embroidery while abstraction figures prominently, manifesting in bold tones and statement pieces. Beaded fringe embroidery appears across outerwear, dresses and separates, and a technical fringe fil coupé lends texture in persimmon, lapis, ivory and black. The house-championed stained glass embroidery technique is reimagined for the season in structural gowns that celebrate orchids and rosettes.
